Your Path to Wellness Through Regenerative PRP Therapy

Understanding PRP Therapy: What to Expect

Did you catch our video on PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy and its potential benefits? Benefits like pain relief and cell restoration. Which starts a healing process that happens at the very source, the damaged tissue. No amount of physical therapy or chiropractic or massage can deliver the growth factors cells found in your blood directly to the injured tissue like a concentrated injection of your platelet-rich plasma can. Today, I want to give you a closer look at what the procedure entails so you’ll know exactly what to expect if you choose to undergo it with us.

The PRP Procedure: Step-by-Step (Click here to see video of the steps)

  • Blood Draw: We start by drawing your blood using a syringe and transferring it into specialized hourglass tubes.
  • Centrifugation: The tubes are then placed in our centrifuge, designed specifically for this purpose. The centrifuge spins at high speed for eight minutes, separating the plasma and platelets from the red and white blood cells.
  • Plasma Separation: Once the spinning is complete, we remove the tubes to reveal the separated components. Using a precise technique, we extract the platelets from the plasma, indicated by a distinct white cloud above the red blood cells.
  • Injection: Depending on your specific needs, we administer the platelets into the affected tissue, whether it’s muscle or tendon. We only inject into muscle or beneath the skin.

This overview gives you a glimpse into the process, helping you feel more comfortable when you come in for your appointment. We’ve witnessed remarkable results with this therapy, particularly in treating tendon and muscle tissue damage that has been slow to heal even with time and treatment.
